After Raphaël Ahumada/Jan Schäuble’s European Championship title in the lightweight double sculls on Saturday, Andri Struzina achieved a second medal for Switzerland at the European Rowing Championships in Bled (Sln).

Struzina wins bronze in the lightweight singles. In the non-Olympic discipline, the man from Zug repeats what he did a year ago in Munich (De).

Just like then, two days after his 26th birthday, gold and silver are out of reach for Struzina. However, the central Swiss has no trouble defending 3rd position.

At the finish after 2000 m, Struzina lost almost six seconds to the French European champion Hugo Beurey. The silver goes to the Italian Niels Torre.

In the women’s lightweight singles, Eline Rol from Western Switzerland rowed to sixth place when Romania’s Ionela-Livia Cozmiuc won, which is her best result at a European Championship. (SDA)
