1/6
The first Swiss to win the Bundesliga: Stéphane Chapuisat (1995 and 1996).

By winning the German championship, Yann Sommer (34) joined a small but illustrious group of Swiss who also won the cup.

Especially Stéphane Chapuisat (53), who won the title twice with Dortmund in 1995 and 1996. In his eight years with BVB, he scored 123 goals in 284 games and also won the Champions League in 1997.

Shaqiri is the record holder

That is exactly what Ciriaco Sforza (53) did with Bayern Munich in 2001. Three years earlier, Nati Kaiserslautern’s newly promoted captain led to the championship in a sensational way. Ludovic Magnin (44) also won two titles with two different clubs in 2004 with Bremen and 2007 with Stuttgart – alongside Marco Streller (41).

Two years later, Diego Benaglio (39) led VfL Wolfsburg to their first title in the club’s history. Swiss record holder in the Bundesliga. The exclusive circle is completed with Xherdan Shaqiri (31). He triumphed three times with Bayern Munich from 2013 to 2015, becoming the Swiss record holder in the Bundesliga. (sr)
