Alexander Zverev easily reaches the semi-finals in Geneva.

Alexander Zverev (ATP 27), placed as number 3, benefits from the resignation of the Chinese Wu Yibing (ATP 59) after more than 22 minutes of play with a score of 4-1. Zverev remains undefeated in Geneva. When he took part in this tournament for the first time in 2019, he won the winner’s trophy.

Zverev will meet Nicolas Jarry (ATP 54) in the semifinals. The Chilean wins against the top seeded Capser Ruud (ATP 4) with 6: 3, 6: 7 (2: 7), 5: 7. It is the Norwegian’s first defeat on Swiss clay. In 2021 and 2022, Ruud triumphed in both Geneva and Gstaad.

The American Taylor Fritz (ATP 9) and the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (ATP 33), the numbers 2 and 4 of the tournament, battle the other semifinal at the idyllic facility in the Parc des Eaux-Vives. While Fritz showed no problems against the Belarusian Ilja Ivashka (ATP 86) and won 6: 1, 6: 2 in just 51 minutes, Dimitrov turned the Australian Christopher O’Connell (ATP 85) 6: 7 (5: 7), 1:4. He won sets 2 and 3 7:5 and 6:4 respectively. (SDA/mab)
