The survival of the Ticino Rockets is assured.

Following an amendment of the articles of association of HC Biasca SA, the Swiss League organization becomes HC Rockets SA. The Rockets move from Biasca to Bellinzona and change the name accordingly.

Negotiations with HC Ambrì-Piotta and GDT Bellinzona have now been completed and the club will become part of the Leventine pyramid, allowing all three organizations to leverage synergies in player training.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Biancoblù, the continued existence of the new “Bellizona Rockets” as part of the Swiss League is ensured.

It is therefore clear that the Swiss league will consist of ten teams next season. “I am pleased that the situation regarding the Swiss League has now been finally clarified,” said Patrick Bloch, CEO of Swiss Ice Hockey. “The Bellinzona Rockets’ decision now allows us to immediately finalize planning for the upcoming season.”

The following teams will play in the Swiss league in the 2023/24 season: EHC Basel, Bellinzona Rockets, HC La Chaux-de-Fonds, GCK Lions, EHC Olten, HC Thurgau, EHC Visp, EHC Winterthur, HC Sierre and newly promoted HCV Martigny. (nsa)
