The actor parodies A Coruña’s season in videos that go viral as soon as they are posted

“The first video of the season was born out of anger.” It was already after the draw in San Fernando roi da costa (A Coruña, 1980) could not think of a better way to externalize it than by parodying it Rambo. “Deportivo is like the Tower of Hercules, the Castle of San Antón or the statue of Maria Pita. When something happens to him, it’s as if we in the family were touched. It came from my gut and I think many people felt recognized,” he explains. His videos, which can be accessed through his own YouTube channel as well as his Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or TikTok accounts, soon go viral. The last one, in which he himself stands in front of the camera to parody Ruben de la Barrera, reached 150,000 views and 15,500 interactions in just three days. “Making people laugh is the most beautiful thing, but in videos there is a lot of work behind it: I document myself, review what people say, create a script… There is humor and criticism, but I base it on the opinions of the stadium, social networks… I accept all of that and I just want to be true to what we all put out there. And the reactions are always positive. Always,” he adds.

Roi is an athlete from birth. His father founded the rock or bagpipes. «I have childhood photos with Aspiazu, Gil, Donow,… MVPs of the time. I went with him to Tribune, Preference, Especial Niños… I grew up with Dépor,” he says. He is an actor and currently participates in Luarafter doing so in several TVG series, while dubbing for MTV Spain, Turkish soap operas and documentaries.

Many are waiting for Friday at 19:06 (a nod to the year the club was founded) to see their new creation. “The next one will be about Lucas in Gladiator, but I already have others in mind,” he says. It recently coincided with 7: “I told him: ‘I’m the one with the videos.’ ‘Yes, I know you,’ he told me. We had a lot of laughs with you in the locker room.'” Rubén de la Barrera also shared an imitation he did. «There’s a lot of affection and humor, I’m not mocking, I’m not trying to mock“, he points out.

With his next project, he will make the leap from the screen to the stage, as he completes Improdépor together with his partner Xavi Veiras. «It is the first theatrical improvisation show for athletes. We want to release it before the end of the season in fan clubs, locals…». In it, he will suggest to the public to choose an iconic sports date and to remember together that day in the life of each of them: what he did, where he was… «It is for athletes, but if someone is from Celta or Madrid, they too will take his meal”, he comments between laughs.
