Tanner Richard hit the bull’s eye twice on Sunday night: first he scored his first World Cup goal in a 4-2 win over the Czech Republic, then he recited the secret of the national hockey team’s success.
“25 guys have grown together here. We’re all damn horny sick people,” Richard told SRF after the game. The Servette striker is known for his snappy statements. In the last playoffs he compared the behavior of Lugano fans to circus animals.
Richard is now at a World Cup for the first time since 2017 and couldn’t feel more comfortable in the national team: “We are very close, on and off the ice. We play games, joke, tell stories and laugh about the season in which we do each other’s laundry. That melts together. You may not see it that way as an outsider.”
