Four weeks ago, Marco Odermatt (25) said goodbye to a social media break. “Time for a nap and to switch off Instagram,” he captioned a snap of him sitting relaxed in the sun with his eyes closed.
The ski high flyer more than deserved the break. Including the World Championship, he took part in 29 races last winter – winning 15 of them and setting a new record with 2042 World Championship points. Now Odermatt is back on Instagram telling his fans what he’s been up to in recent weeks. “Recently this spring,” he writes of a series of photos.
Smoking and race use
He couldn’t do without “compulsory appointments”. So Odermatt accepted the Fan Award at Swiss Ski Night in a tuxedo instead of a ski suit and ran for charity in the “Wings for Life World Run”. In addition, there was plenty of time for relaxation.
What is striking: even at Odermatt this is almost impossible without sport. On the contrary. He goes on a ski tour with his girlfriend Stella Parpan, after surfing he runs with his surfboard on a seemingly endless beach or is probably at home cycling along the shores of Lake Lucerne.
Sunglasses backwards
In the time without skis, Odermatt’s friends don’t miss a thing. He is clearly having fun on a trip with them. The group poses for a photo in front of a Ferris wheel – all with smiles on their faces. And prankster Odermatt with the sunglasses backwards on his nose.
So the man from Nidwalden clearly enjoyed his break. And will soon start preparing for the coming season with charged batteries. (bir)
