Vaduz coach Martin Stocklasa leads his team to the cup victory.

FC Vaduz beat Balzers 4-0 in the final of the Liechtenstein Cup.

Defender Cédric Gasser put the ninth in the Challenge League ahead just before the break. The other goals were scored between the 70th and 88th minutes by Tunahan Cicek from a penalty kick, Lars Traber and Tim Väyrynen.

Thanks to the cup victory, Vaduz can again qualify for the Conference League. This season, the team sensationally qualified for the group stage, which they finished with two points.

Balzers, leader of group 5 in the second interregional league, last triumphed in the cup in 1997. Since then, the team has failed nine times in the final – always against Vaduz. FCV has only failed to win the league once since 1998: in 2012 it lost to Eschen-Mauren. In total, the team from the capital of Liechtenstein now has 49 cup titles. (SDA)
