The Miami Heat (in red) defeated the Boston Celtics 123-116 in the first semifinal of the playoffs.

The Miami Heat won the first Finals game of the NBA’s Eastern Conference 123:116 (57:66) against the Boston Celtics. Led by another excellent Jimmy Butler, the Florida team was victorious in the second half. Butler is the best pitcher of the game with 35 points, but also shines with seven assists and six wins.

After a first half dominated by Boston, the Heat turned up the heat after halftime. In the third quarter, Miami scored 46 points, the most in any quarter in playoff history. They only let go of the lead at the end of the game. Six players in the Heat score at least 15 points.

Boston’s star player Jayson Tatum has 30 points, but fails to score wide in the last quarter and concedes two losses in the finish.

Miami knocked out qualifiers Milwaukee Bucks and the New York Knicks in the playoffs. The Heat have started all three playoff series with away wins. The second game in the best-of-seven series is scheduled again on Saturday-evening in Boston. A year ago, in the playoff game between these two teams, Boston triumphed in seven games. (SDA)
