May 2021: Before Cabral says goodbye to Brazil for the summer holidays, Patrick Frame (54) takes his star striker aside. And hurls it at him: “Come back in good shape!”

Frame made Cabral a top priority

After the journey to the Seleçao, it was clear that King Arthur would soon move on. The Empire in Basel? Too small for a Brazil international. At the end of January 2022, Fiorentina put more than 16 million francs on the table. No one is mad at Cabral in Basel – the memories are too good. And with the compensation he helped enormously to keep the shaky FCB ship afloat financially.
Framework on Cabral’s final day in Basel: “It suddenly happened very quickly. Before he invited the team to dinner that evening, we met again in the dressing room, talked for a long time and hugged. Frames and Cabral still text each other to this day. And his ex-coach is convinced that Cabral’s path is even higher: “I trust that he will play a good role at a top European club. Arthur has that certain something that a striker needs at this level.”
