The two Swiss internationals Lucas Meister and Nikolas Portner have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League with Magdeburg. After the 22:22 in the first leg, German champion Wisla Plock defeated Poland 30:28 at home in the second leg of the quarter-finals.
With four goals and the same number of degrees, Meister is the home team’s third best scorer. Portner, who largely has to give way to the Dane Mike Jensen in the goal, parries a throw of seven meters.
The final tournament with the best four teams will take place on the weekend of 17/18. June in Cologne. When Magdeburg last won the Champions League in 2002, the final was played with a second leg. (SDA)
