The Swiss cycling professionals left their mark on the Tour of Hungary. While Marc Hirschi defended the leader’s jersey in the 4th stage, Yannis Voisard celebrated his first victory as a pro.
The 24-year-old Romand attacks on the final climb and reaches the finish after 206 km with a lead of ten seconds on the first pursuer solo. Voisard, who gave Fabian Cancellara’s Tudor team its fifth win of the season, jumped from 9th to 3rd overall, trailing Hirschi by 13 seconds before the final stage. The man from Bern, who had taken the leader’s jersey a day earlier with his first win of the season, crossed the line in fourth.
The Tour, which is part of the (second-tier) UCI ProSeries, ends on Sunday with a flat stage starting and finishing in Budapest. (SDA)
