The 51-year-old Berner, who lives in Zurich and will immediately assume operational management, has been active in international football for twenty years. Most recently, she worked at UEFA as a venue director for club competitions.
“It must be an unforgettable and lasting festival for women, for football and for the whole of Switzerland,” says Keller. “I think it is a great responsibility that we organize a tournament that is sustainable, ecological, economic, but also sporty, especially for women’s football.”
The tournament will take place in the summer of 2025. It will be played in Geneva, Basel, Zurich, Thun, St. Gallen, Sion, Bern and Lucerne. In addition to Keller, SFV President Dominique Blanc, Secretary General Robert Breiter and Director of Women’s Football Marion Daube will lead the tournament organization, which will be set up together with UEFA.
