In 2019, Lars Rösti (25) succeeds Marco Odermatt (25). The trained carpenter is crowned junior world champion one year after the two-time World Cup winner.
Now the two Swiss have something else in common. Because Rösti changes the ski brand and is now on Stöckli skis like Odermatt.
“Welcome to the Stöckli family, Lars Rösti!”, the Swiss ski company wrote on Instagram on Wednesday evening. “We look forward to the upcoming season.”
Three victories in the European Cup
Speed specialist Rösti has so far skied down the slopes on Rossignol skis. “After 14 years, it’s time to start a new chapter and thank Rossignol,” he wrote on Instagram.
The downhill hope has yet to make the breakthrough in the World Cup. Rösti entered 17 races and finished in the points four times. He achieved his best result as the newly crowned junior world champion when he finished 15th in the downhill at the 2019 World Cup final. In the European Cup, he scored two victories in the downhill and one in the Super-G. Now he wants to gain a foothold in the World Cup with the new skis. And can certainly benefit from Odermatt.
After Andrea Ellenberger (from Stöckli to Nordica) and Jasmine Flury (from Fischer to Kästle), Rösti is the third Swiss company to switch brands a few weeks after the end of the season. (bir)
