After learning of the illness, he announced his retirement from football last March, but has now signed a three-year, $12 million contract.

Foster Moreautight end (tight end) who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer last March, signed a three-year contract this Wednesday in exchange for 12 million dollars play for the New Orleans Saints, an NFL team, a professional American football league.

Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a cancer that begins in white blood cells, called lymphocytes, that grow out of control and cause swollen lymph nodes.

Moreau, 26, revealed his condition during a physical to evaluate his move from the Las Vegas Raiders, his previous team, to the Saints. After learning of the illness, the New Orleans, Louisiana-born player announced his retirement from football on March 23.

Through a somewhat miraculous process, this period of free will changed my life. “During a routine check-up, I found out that I have Hodgkin’s lymphoma and that I will be retiring from football,” Moreau said at the time.

This Wednesday the situation changed. The former LSU Tigers star reported that doctors have told him it can be removed, even though the cancer has reached stage two.

The diagnosis has allowed the Saints to believe the player will be healthy and ready to play in the 2023 season, which begins next September.

Moreau was a fourth-round pick of the Raiders in the 2019 draft. He played four seasons in Las Vegas, completing 91 receptions for 1,107 yards and 12 touchdowns.

In the 2022 season, the tight end had a career-high 33 receptions and 240 yards, stats that caught the attention of New Orleans.

With the Saints, Foster Moreau will bolster an offense led by his former Las Vegas Raiders teammate, back Derek Carr, running back Jamaal Williams, who played for the Detroit Lions in 2021 and 2022, and the team’s other tight end, Juwan Johnson.

In the 2023 season, the Saints will seek a return to play, after finishing last year with a record of seven wins and 10 losses in third place in the National Conference South division.
