Center Lucas Wallmark joins HC Fribourg-Gottéron for two years. The 27-year-old Swede comes over from the ZSC Lions, for whom he scored 37 points last season.
In addition to his compatriots Andreas Borgman, Marcus Sörensen, Jacob De la Rose, the American Ryan Gunderson and the Canadian Christopher DiDomenico, Wallmark is the sixth foreigner who is under contract with Gottéron next season.
Dubé looking forward to “winning mentality”
In the press release, the Swede is looking forward to his new challenge. “I can’t wait to play for Freiburg. Like the club, I am very ambitious. I want to shine in my second season in the Swiss top league.”
Christian Dubé, coach and sports director of the Saanestadt team, shares this joy and probably hopes to add a decisive element to the selection with Wallmark: “His winning mentality and his game intelligence will make him an important building block for the coming seasons. ” (SDA/dti)
