After a scoreless first third, visiting Seattle man Morgan Geekie set the first scent mark. Colorado reacts immediately and quickly equalizes through Nathan MacKinnon. Before the break, however, it was the Kraken who took the lead again. Tye Kartye scored for his colours.
Once the third period started, Yanni Gourde made it 3-1 for Seattle. Colorado is no longer enough for more than Evan Rodrigues’ goal.
Denis Malgin has 12 minutes of ice time. While the 26-year-old forward has 11 goals and 6 assists for the Avalanche in the regular season, he is still waiting for his first scorer point in the playoffs.
Game 6 will take place in Seattle on Saturday-evening. Colorado needs to make the rebreak to keep dreaming of defending the title.
Narrow defeat for Boston
