Matthias Glarner (37), Matthias Sempach (37), Christian Stucki (38) and Kilian Wenger (32) – these wrestling kings from Bern will have to cram a few lines of text in the coming weeks. As Pascal Ulli, director of this year’s open-air theater at Ballenberg, said at a media conference on Tuesday, one of the athletes will take on a role on each game night.

“Wyberhaagge – Drama am Schwingfest” by Beat Schlatter and Christoph Fellmann will be performed 27 times between July 5 and August 19. The play is set in the fictional village of Alttannen and is about the Zurich event manager Ben (Schlatter), who wants to organize a match in the village between a female wrestler and a wrestler king. Countless obstacles are put in his way, including deadly enemies. (SDA)
