The sports entity from Seville joined forces with the Spanish company Finetwork to promote this initiative in which the networkers participated in the transformation of marine waste

This initiative, channeled through the club platform ‘Forever green‘, he gave a second life to 100 kilograms of nets from marine waste, which stopped emitting 166.37 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere.

In order to make this possible, they collaborated with a group of nethers from different fishing villages in Galicia, who carried out an artisanal transformation of the nets, which were already installed in the stadium of the men’s and women’s teams.

In this way, Real Betis becomes an icon of sports sustainability, contributing to the elimination of this type of pollution, which poses a great threat to marine species.

Finetwork’s head of communications, media and CSR, Alexander Delgado, expressed satisfaction with the initiative. “For us, carrying out this campaign together with Real Betis and its ‘Forever Green’ platform is something we have been thinking about for a long time, as we share our involvement in sustainability and interest in increasing the positive impact we create on the environment. At Finetwork, we firmly believe in our motto ‘Better is possible’, and with this initiative we contribute in a positive way to its materialization”, he pointed out.

Manager of the Real Betis Foundation, the entity that manages the environmental sustainability platform of the Verdiblanco club, raphael grinds, also emphasized the importance of the initiative. “With this action, we are expanding our reach by carrying out actions that also take care of our sea. It’s very important to adhere to initiatives like these that work to reduce the impact of marine litter and get to know the large public that our fans are alerting to the importance of taking care of our oceans,” he said.
