Dominique Aegerter (32) achieves the best result of the season so far in the Superbike World Championship. In the first of two races at Assen, the Bernese Yamaha rider finished sixth. Aegerter improves to 9th place in the World Cup standings. In his debut season in the premier class of Superbikes, the former Moto2 rider has scored World Championship points in every race so far.
Victory on the Dutch circuit goes to superior World Championship leader and defending Superbike champion Alvaro Bautista of Spain, who is celebrating his fifth win in a row.
It wasn’t until the summer that Aegerter moved up to the top class of the Superbike World Championship, having consistently topped the MotoE and Supersport World Championships for the past three years. Last year, the man from Bern won the world championship in both racing categories. (SDA/nsa)
