Breakthrough with head
The helplessness persisted. In 20 World Cup races, the technician came sixth once (in Zagreb), otherwise there was no other top 15 place. At the World Championships in Méribel, de Valais finished 27th in the slalom and 14th in the giant slalom – far too little for a woman of her talent.

Rast’s teammate Michelle Gisin (29) also switched to Salomon before last season – her performance was not comparable to that of before. However, Gisin must remain loyal to Salomon – she emphasized from the start that she sees the change as a long-term project.
Back to rest. When asked why she switched to the much smaller French company in the first place, she replies: “The distances are short and I can participate, also in the construction of the skis – that’s all very exciting.” The question is whether she will continue on this path.
