Massive trouble over fake Schumi interview

Michael Schumacher was the victim of an irreverent act.

A hugely inflated interview with Michael Schumacher (54) on the front page of the latest issue of the German magazine “Die Aktuell” causes major problems. The catch: the entire “conversation” was generated using ChatGPT’s artificial intelligence. However, this information is not visible on the front page.

“The first interview”: this is how “Die Aktuell” sells the fake interview.

Next to the headline “Michael Schumacher: The first interview!” is the word «World Sensation!». Below that in smaller script: “It sounds deceptively real.” The resolution only comes in the inner part of the booklet. The source is: “The interview was on the internet. On a page that has to do with artificial intelligence, or AI for short.”

An incredibly disrespectful action when you consider that the health of the seven-time Formula 1 world champion who had an accident in December 2013 is still kept secret to this day. The Schumacher family is now planning legal action against the magazine, the international news agency Reuters confirms.

Netflix documentary provided insight

The family last commented on the situation in a 2021 Netflix documentary. Corinna Schumacher (54) said at the time: “We live at home together. We do therapy. We’re doing everything we can to make Michael feel better, to make him feel good and just to make him feel like our family, our connection.”

And son Mick, who has been a substitute at Mercedes since this season after his Haas-Out, also expressed his greatest wish in the Schumacher documentation: “I would give everything if I could speak to my father again!” His mother adds: “It is very important to me that he can continue to enjoy his private life as much as possible. Michael has always protected us and now we protect Michael.”

The lawsuit against “Die Aktuell” is one of these protective measures. (tired)
