In the letter, the football player’s lawyers attached an expert report with pictures that would show that the player and the victim flirted before the event, danced and drank together

Exjugador FC Barcelona Daniel Alves he asked the judge to investigate him for the alleged rape of a young woman in a night club in Sutton Barcelona to release him on temporary release, and insisted that the images from the security cameras of the private room free him.

According to what legal sources informed Efe, the document was presented this morning before the investigative court number 15 in Barcelona, which is investigating the footballer for the alleged rape of a 23-year-old girl in the bathroom of a reserved room in Sutton last December 30.

Alves’ defense, led by lawyers Cristóbal Martell and Arnau Xumetra, again requested the footballer’s temporary release, which a court in Barcelona had already rejected in February, after he appeared before a judge again last Monday, which insisted that he had consensual sex with the plaintiff and that he lied in his first statement to hide his infidelity to his wife.

In the letter, the football player’s lawyers attach the expert report they ordered on the recordings of the security cameras of the private room, which, according to the defense, would show that the defendant and the victim were flirting in front of the facts, danced and drank together, and that she voluntarily entered the bathroom after Alves.

The defense adds to these arguments that the footballer has enough roots in Barcelona, where he has a home in his name, and that he does not have the economic capacity that the investigating judge attributed to him for the companies he has in his name in Brazil.

On February 21, the court in Barcelona already rejected the same arguments presented by the defense in its appeal — based on the roots and on the images from the security cameras — when it decided to keep the footballer in preventive detention, appreciating the “high” risk of escape and considering that the evidence who charge him with “heavy” and “miscellaneous”.

On this occasion, the request for release uses, as a new element, Alves’ statement last Monday before the investigating judge, in which the defendant stuck to his fourth version of the facts and clarified that in his previous statement he lied in order to save his marriage.

In that latest appearance, the footballer admitted for the first time that he had vaginally penetrated the victim – after biological tests found traces of semen in her private parts – and again questioned his credibility, saying that he believes that the young woman denounced him because she was offended because he was not gentle after sex kept in the bathroom.
