Ex-YB player dies in car accident

Dominik Neff, former YB player, died in an accident.

A fatal accident took place on the A1 motorway at the Kerzers FR exit on Tuesday. According to Nau.ch, the victim is Dominik Neff († 47), a former BSC Young Boys player.

For reasons still unknown, Neff collided with a safety device and threw himself against the central barrier, after which he exited his vehicle and ended up in the oncoming carriageway, the Friborg cantonal police said in a statement. There he was hit by three vehicles. Neff died at the scene of the accident.

The club of Bern publishes the funeral notice on Thursday. “It is with great sadness that we have learned that our former player Dominik Neff has passed away. The BSC YB offers its sincere condolences to the relatives.”

The former midfielder came over from FC Aarberg to the Bernese in the summer of 1994 and played 21 league matches in the first team until 1997. (SDA/mo)
