At the age of 16, he founded his own club and set himself the goal of representing Ferrolterra at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Recently named a high-level athlete by the Xunta de Galicia and the only Galician called up to the Spanish under-21 break dance team, david love (Neda, 16 years old) does not set boundaries and has just founded a club called Urban Galicia in which he holds the position of secretary and with which he tries to promote this sport, which will be an Olympic discipline in Paris in 2024.
— What are your short-term goals?
— I will compete in the Spanish Championship and the European Championship, which will take place in May in Almería, and another test in France, and I will also be at the World Battle in Portugal. The most important thing is to do a good job at the European Championship because it counts for the Olympics and it’s important to be seen.
— How did you come up with the idea of founding a break club?
— There are very few of them in Galicia and we decided it was important to take a step. I made a clean ten and it’s not bad. I am first in the national rankings for under-21s and twenty-ninth in absolute ranking.
Where do you hope to go in the long term?
— To be at the Olympic Games, but there is still time for that. Now I am focused on the Spanish Championship and preparations for Los Angeles 2028.
— What does break dance mean in your life?
— I started doing this when I was 10 years old and discovered breaking, which is very liberal and creative. This discipline allowed me to implement a part of myself, my way of dressing and expressing what I feel and am. I live it and the day I don’t enjoy it will no longer make sense because it is my main goal.
— What would you say to someone who is thinking about this?
—I recommend that you put yourself in the hands of an expert because I started alone, and you take on vices and it takes you years to get rid of the movements you have assimilated.
