All three Swiss in the apparatus final make mistakes that drop them out of the medal race.
Luca Giubellini (20) drops out when landing the very difficult “Dragulescu”. The landing also fails on the second jump. With a score of 14.200, Giubellini, son of Daniel Giubellini, European parallel bars champion in 1990, is not eligible for the qualification. He finished the competition in 6th place.
Unclean precious metal finish
In the parallel bars final, the two Swiss Eddy Yusof (28) and Noé Seifert (24) did not come close to their numbers from qualifying. The Zürcher Unterlander Yusof, who only just qualified for the final, impressively proves his skills, but falls on his head at the exit.
As on Saturday, Seifert does not stay flawless on the floor. Fourth in qualifying, he is one of the medal contenders. A careless mistake at the start of the exercise, further uncertainties and finally a lunge at the dismount throw Seifert far behind – also behind Yusof.
