SC Bern again leads European ratings

For the 22nd time in a row, SC Bern welcomed the most spectators of all ice hockey clubs in Europe.

Swiss ice hockey is one of the spectator magnets in Europe. In addition to leader Bern, four other clubs are represented in the top 20.

According to the “Alliance of European Hockey Clubs”, the Berners are ahead of the Kölner Haien (13,901) and the Russian team Avangard Omsk (11,527) with an average of 14,750 spectators per game. Compared to 2019/20, the last season without corona restrictions, as many as 1,500 fewer fans came to the Bern stadium.

The Lions are also up front

The ZSC Lions just missed out on the podium with an average attendance of 11,459 fans. The top 20 also includes Friborg-Gottéron (11th), Lausanne (19th) and Zug (20th).

The National League also posted a season high. An average of 7,005 fans attended the games, breaking the 7,000 mark for the second time. The highest Swiss league also holds the record. In the 19/20 season, 7074 spectators were counted per game. (SDA/dti)
