Even after a long season, the stars can’t just corner their skis. German speed specialist Kira Weidle (27) also relaxes during a ski tour in the Tyrolean mountains. The last of winter, she announces on Instagram. What she doesn’t know yet: a special highlight awaits her during the tour.
When she comes upstairs, her boyfriend surprises her with a marriage proposal. “A little plot twist on the mountain,” Weidle writes of a photo showing her engagement ring. With the hashtag #YES she underlines that she answered yes to the question of all questions. Nothing is known about the man by her side. Until now Weidle has never publicly commented on him, on the first snapshot as a fiancé he only shows himself with ski goggles.
Congratulations to numerous ski stars
The news is quickly making the rounds in the ski circus. Among the photos, Weidle receives numerous congratulations from her competitors. Sofia Goggia, Marie-Michèle Gagnon, Ragnhild Mowinckel and Ilka Stuhec are among the first to wish the best.
Weidle has competed in 104 World Cup competitions to date. It was not enough for a win so far, she was on the podium in six of them. She succeeded twice last winter. In both Cortina d’Ampezzo (It) and Crans-Montana (Sz) she was third in the downhill.
