FIFA has withdrawn another host World Cup. Just five days after the end of the U20 World Cup in Indonesia, the World Football Federation announced that Peru will not host the U17 tournament, scheduled for November 10 to December 2.
FIFA justified the move by saying Peru was unable to meet its commitments to complete the infrastructure needed to host the tournament. This comes as a surprise as Peru was already scheduled to host the 2021 edition, which was canceled due to the pandemic.
The date must stand, FIFA is now looking for a new host. (SDA/dti)
