Giovanni Sio may come into action for FC Sion in Lucerne on Sunday. The SFL’s Disciplinary Committee partially approved the club’s appeal against the striker’s two-game suspension.
Sio, who was sent off against Young Boys on March 11, has already served his sentence reduced to one match. Halfway through the first half, the Frenchman received a red card for a feigned elbow strike against YB warhorse Cédric Zesiger.
The single judge is of the opinion that the action of the Valais striker was “only a rude gesture towards the opponent, which was preceded by a provocation”. (SDA/SME)
