THE IOC is in talks with ten nations for the 2036 Olympic Games.

Mexico wants to host the Summer Olympics in 2036 or 2040. Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard and Mexican Olympic Committee President Mary José Alcala handed over a letter of intent to IOC President Thomas Bach in Lausanne on Friday. According to the IOC, it is in talks with a dozen countries about hosting the 2036 games, including Egypt, Britain, India and South Korea.

The 2036 Summer Games are up for grabs. The 2024 summer games will be held in Paris, four years later the games will be in Los Angeles and in 2032 in Brisbane in Australia.

Mexico hosted the Summer Games in 1968. The Latin American country is also one of the organizers of the next FIFA World Cup in 2026, along with the US and Canada.(SDA/dti)
