The Spanish golfer won with solvency and continues with options after losing to Rickie Fowler
Jon Rahm saved his first match point in the Dell Technologies Match Play. The Spanish golfer surpassed Keith Mitchell by authority of 4&3 and is in second position in his group, after a first-day setback against Rickie Fowler. Namely, the Californian golfer was defeated by a score of 3&2 against Billy Horschel, who happens to lead the group.
Jon Rahm faces a golfer from Florida this Friday (15:30, Movistar+). The Spaniard will have to win to secure, at least, a tiebreaker against Fowler, which must be imposed on Mitchell.
“There can be no more electric fun”. This is how Rahm defined the duel that follows against Horschel, the winner of this tournament in 2021. Rickie’s defeat is good news for Rahm, who no longer depends on other results to advance to the next round tomorrow.
“I think the big difference was on the greens. Today [por ayer] I played similar, but I didn’t make that many mistakes,” said the Spaniard, who will be trying to win his first title after being named runner-up in 2017 at the tournament, which will not be played until next year.
