Malena Barro and Iria Jarama, under 23 of the San Felipe rowing club, and Candela Martínez, a junior from Cedeira, became the best in their categories at the Banyoles Open

Three athletes from the Ferrolterra region will represent the area at the invitational for Spanish rowing team after good results achieved at the Spring Open regatta to enter the 2023 national team, held in Banyoles over the weekend. They are Malena Barro and Iria Jarama, from San Felipe Rowing Cluband Candela Martínez, on behalf of the club Remo Cedeira.

In the case of the couple from the Ferrol team, the aforementioned concentration for them began on Sunday after the competition, and their stay in the Catalan regions will last until March 26, according to the official calendar of the Federation.

Malena Barro and Iria Jarama sealed the best score in the under-23 category and were less than nine seconds away from Aina Centelles and María Fernanda Valencia, in the absolute category of Nàutic Amposta, in the final of the competition. From his club, they emphasize the feat of v “like us warriors” where invite them to follow “rowing to life and living or rowing”.

For her part, Remo Cedeiro’s Candela Martínez was also named best in the youth category, gaining direct access to training with the national team for the upcoming international competitions, according to reports from her team.
