About twenty former athletes from different parts of Galicia shared anecdotes at a meeting held in A Coruña

This week, Coruña hosted the fourth annual meeting of Galician judo pioneers. After a break of several years due to the pandemic, the former athletes, with Fernando Míguez as master of ceremonies, resumed the event. During it, they recalled stories from their youth, when they started practicing this martial art in the sixties, many of them in the Juan Canalejo building in A Coruña.

The event was attended by, as can be seen in the picture (first row above, left to right): Ángel Bugueiro, Alejandro Bugueiro, Ángel Villar, Jaime Roque, Eduardo Blanco, Francisco Cabaleiro, Antonio Cabaleiro, Javier Gago, Rafael Losada and Juan Carlos Purriños; second row: Jose Grobas, Francisco Debén, Fernando Míguez, José Vázquez, José María Pastor and Manuel Pan; third row: Antonio Lucas, José Annicharico, Juan Guijarro, Armando Sarasola, Javier Padín, Pedro Rolán and Ignacio Padín.
