Qualifier La Chaux-de-Fonds has taken a big step towards the national title in the Swiss league. After the 3:2 victory in extra time at home, Neuchâtel also won the second final match in Olten – 3:1. With that they need two more successes in the best-of-7 series.

Olten also took the lead in the second game, thanks to Timothy Kast in the 25th minute. This time La Chaux-de-Fonds already reacted to the 0:1. After Sondre Olden equalized (29′), Leonardo Fuhrer (35′) and Oliver Achermann (37′) scored with two power play goals within 138 seconds to make it 3-1. Olten had no answer for that.

After the 2-1 win, however, Solothurn filed a field protest because goalkeeper Lucas Rötheli had previously lost his right hand pad. The referees took another look at the scene and awarded the goal. (SDA/Mom)
