At the European Cup final in Narvik, the Swiss giant slalom skiers secured three permanent places in the giant slalom for the upcoming World Cup season. 24-year-old Toggenburger Josua Mettler takes 3rd place and easily wins the discipline rating. They are followed by another Toggenburger, Marco Fischbacher and Livio Simonet from Graubünden.
Although they cannot score points in Northern Norway, they remain in the top 3. This means that all three are eligible to start in every World Cup Giant Slalom for the upcoming season.
Mélanie Meillard also took third place in the last giant slalom of the European Cup. In the overall standings, however, she “only” finished in 4th place. (SDA/dti)
