McLain Ward wins the s’Hertogenbosch Grand Prix.

In the Dutch s’Hertogenbosch, the American McLain Ward triumphed in the saddle of Azur ahead of the Frenchman Julien Epaillard and the Swede Henrik von Eckermann. The Swiss Steve Guerdat misses the podium with Dynamix in fourth by one hundredth of a second, Martin Fuchs is fifth with Leone Jei. Guerdat will receive 100,000 euros, Fuchs will receive 60,000.

It is Ward’s second consecutive GP victory after his victory in Geneva. In addition to the prize money of 330,000 euros, he will receive a bonus of 500,000 euros for two consecutive victories. Only one rider before him did the same, namely Britain’s Scott Brash in 2014 and 2015. Ward now has a chance to win an extra million euros with another GP victory in Aachen. (SDA/mab)
