Excellent race in the far north: Sebastian Stalder finished in the top 5 for the first time in the World Cup in Östersund.

Fifth place for Sebastian Stalder! The 25-year-old from Zurich Oberland has never been better, with two 7th places being his best result so far.

After the last shooting, Stalder even entered the cross-country track in second behind the superior Norwegian Vetle Christiansen, but was unable to fully defend this position in the final loop. He missed his first World Cup podium mainly due to a penalty kick in the first leg in the prone position. Nevertheless, he impressively confirmed his great progress this season.

The second Swiss Niklas Hartweg qualified in 23rd place with two shooting errors.

In the women’s race, the Swiss Aita Gasparin with one shooting error and Lena Häcki-Gross took 19th and 20th place with three of them, Elisa Gasparin followed in 25th place. Just like in the individual race on Thursday, victory went to Italy’s Dorothea Wierer. (SDA)
