For the World Cup in La Molina, Spain, Aron Fahrni (24) weighed heavily. He’s not aiming for a medal or a certain rank, he just wants to go full throttle and be happy with his performance at the end of the day.
No medal on target – but now Fahrni still has silver in the bag at the World Championships. The Berner from Oberthal BE is second at the World Championship snowboard cross behind the Italian Jacopo Luchini.
Tschopp second behind Dutch
Romy Tschopp (29) does the same for women. Last year’s Paralympic competitor from Sissach also won the silver medal in snowboard cross. Only Lisa Bunschoten from the Netherlands is faster in the final.
The World Championships in Andorra will see snowboard cross team competitions on Sunday and next week races in double bench slalom, a parallel format with elevated turns.
