We like many cups from Embolo. Especially when it comes to national goals. But the Basel player continues to make headlines off the pitch. A little chronology.

On March 30, 2017, the public prosecutor of Basel-Land sentenced Embolo to a suspended fine of ten daily rates of one thousand francs. The reason: Violation of the traffic rules, unlawful implementation of learning journeys, not carrying ID cards and permits within the meaning of the Road Traffic Act and violation of the Traffic Ordinance.

By judgment of 14 February 2019, the Basel-Stadt public prosecutor’s office extended the probationary period by one year. The violation of the Corona rules: In January 2021, after the game against Stuttgart, Embolo drove to Essen to watch basketball with a friend. That’s how he describes it in an Instagram story. The Essen police vehemently disagrees. Embolo is said to have been part of a party community whose personal details are captured by the police and under investigation for violating the Corona Protection Ordinance. Embolo fled over a roof to an adjoining apartment, where he wanted to hide from the police in the bathtub. But she broke the door when no one answered… Gladbach fined the Swiss with a record fine of some 200,000 francs!

At Christmas 2022, Embolo made headlines after being shot in his Lamborghini SUV Urus. Because a Nissan ignored a stop sign, as an eyewitness says. And now the last case: Embolo has to go to court. The charge is multiple threats. The case is delicate and will be heard in June before the Basel-Stadt Criminal Court.
