Amy Baserga and Niklas Hartweg are happy again with a podium finish.

Amy Baserga and Niklas Hartweg climb the World Cup podium again. The duo took second place behind Norway in the single mixed relay in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic.

The two had already achieved two podium places for Switzerland in this discipline at the World Championships in Pokljuka at the beginning of January and at the end of January with silver at the European Championships in Lenzerheide.

Hartwegveld rolls up from behind

Hartweg deserves the bulk of the success this time around. The 23-year-old rolls onto the field from behind in the last standing position. After a rapid fire in 18 seconds, of which five hits, he is the second to leave the firing range. Earlier he and Amy Baserga with 10 reserve were not completely convinced in this discipline. Norway’s winning duo, Marte Olsbu Röiseland and Vetle Sjastad Christiansen, need just seven top-ups, and third-place Latvia is also more accurate.

Norway’s lead over Switzerland is 19 seconds after 12.6 km and 8 shots. Latvia was 39 seconds back.

At the World Championships in Oberhof, Lena Häcki-Gross replaced Amy Baserga due to her better mileage – without success. (SDA)
