Wil defends the lead at the last minute

In the upper game there is redemption for FC Wil shortly before time.

FC Wil remains leader of the Challenge League. In the top match against Yverdon, the East Swiss equalized in the 94th minute to make it 1-1.

In an attempt to find some late luck with a corner kick, Wil-Goalie Noam Baumann rushes into the opponent’s penalty area. However, the ball falls short on the near post where Josias Lukembila lurks. The striker bounces the deep ball into the net with his head for the celebrated but also somewhat flattering equalizer for the guests.

The late goal is bitter for the home side, who hardly allowed any chances after Brian Beyer took the lead in the 31st minute.

Zero number for the rear light

If they won, the West Swiss would have topped the table in the second highest Swiss league, but they are two points behind Wil and could even be relegated to second place on Sunday. This if Lausanne won the home game against Vaduz.

The second game on Friday also ends in a draw. No goals were scored in the duel between bottom of the table Xamax and Aarau. The closest to scoring comes Aarau’s Valon Fazliu, whose finish hit the post in the 62nd minute. (SDA)
