The New Jersey Devils remain in a goal vote in the NHL. After beating Philadelphia 7-0 on Sunday night, they scored a second straight seven goals in a 7-5 win against the Colorado Avalanche. Nico Hischier collects two points.
Anticipation was high in New Jersey for the newest attraction in the storm. However, after moving from San Jose to New Jersey, Timo Meier has yet to play against Colorado. But the Devils don’t depend on the Appenzeller’s goals to be successful.
In a spectacular game against the reigning champions, New Jersey relinquished a 5-1 lead and brought the Denver team within a goal twice, but the Devils couldn’t take the win away from them.
Two points for Hischier – Schmid came on

Siegenthaler remains without a scorer point in more than 17 minutes of ice time, captain Hischier prepares Tomas Tatar’s 3-0 with his 31st assist of the season and scores the final score shortly before time with a goal in the empty goal. It is Wallis’ 26th goal of the season. Dawson Mercer has one goal and three assists with the Devils.
Schmid fell in the final third after Vitek Vanecek conceded the fifth goal and was not beaten by the twelve shots on target in just under 19 minutes. It is the third straight victory for the Devils, the third best team in the Eastern Conference.
Denis Malgin, meanwhile, has just under six minutes of ice time near Colorado and remains unaffected.
Janis Moser provided the Arizona Coyotes with his 17th assist of the season to take the lead through Barrett Hayton, but was eventually beaten 4–2 by the Dallas Stars. The Coyotes went without a win for the third straight season.
