Kruger also dominates over 15 kilometers

Simen Hegstad Krüger wins gold in the 15 km skating in Planica.

The two-time Olympic champion from Pyeongchang 2018 triumphed at the World Championships in Planica (Slo) over 15 kilometers skating with 5.3 seconds ahead of his compatriot Harald Östberg Amundsen. The places 3 and 4 are also taken by Norwegians, who fully live up to their role as favourites.

The bronze goes to Hans Christer Holund, the defending champion from Oberstdorf. However, he loses almost 25 seconds to Krüger. The Norwegian quartet is completed by Johannes Hösflot Klaebo.

Meanwhile, it is a disappointment for the Swiss. None of the Swiss ski athletes can secure a place in the top 30. Beda Klee (37th) is the best Swiss to lose almost 2:50 minutes to the winner. Cyril Fähndrich qualified 3:06 minutes behind in 42nd place. (SDA/mab)
