SC Bern will have to do without Chris DiDomenico in the important derby of Bern on Thursday against the SCL Tigers. The top scorer earned his third swallow of the season and that automatically leads to a match suspension.
In the game against the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers on February 24, the 34-year-old Canadian committed a foul, for which he was fined 6,000 francs. The club waives further sanctions, general manager Raeto Raffainer (41) confirms to Blick.
Only last week it was announced that DiDomenico and SCB would each go their separate ways after this season, the contract was terminated prematurely.
Compete for the pre-playoffs
The Berners are currently 10th in the National League, which would just net them a ticket to the pre-playoffs. But if they lose the derby against the Tigers (live on Blick TV from 7.45pm) after 60 minutes then Ambri or Lugano (in head-to-head) would pass them (see table below).
Then the SCB should beat the ZSC Lions in the last game and hope for support so that the season does not end early. (DK/che)
