The investigations into the accounting fraud scandal at Juventus are apparently expanding.
According to Italian media, six other judicial authorities have launched an investigation. These are the cities of Bologna, Genoa (Sampdoria), Cagliari, Bergamo (Atalanta), Udine (Udinese) and Modena (Sassuolo), taking a closer look at their local clubs.
The reason for this is player transfers that took place between the clubs and Juve during the period currently under investigation by the Turin prosecutor’s office. They sent the authorities of the said cities the relevant documents regarding the bills of exchange.
Excessive market values and secret payments
In the current season, the Turiners were deducted 15 points for accounting fraud. On the one hand because they would have given their players too high a market value to be able to sell them too expensive – also to the six league competitors.
On the other hand, the Bianconeri would have embezzled salaries on the balance sheet during the corona pandemic. At the time, the Juve players agreed to surrender part of their wages.
