Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard celebrates a perfect season debut on the “O Gran Camino”, a stage race in Spain’s second highest category.
The Dane wins the second stage in the northwest of the country ahead of the Portuguese Ruben Guerreiro and the Spaniard Ion Izagirre. At the same time, Vingegaard takes over the leadership of the Four Days Marches. The first stage was canceled the day before due to snow about 20 km from the finish.
Vingegaard secures his 13th pro victory on the 184.3 km climb of Monte Trega with an attack on the final climb. He also sets a good example in the long-distance duel with his tour rival Tadej Pogacar, who won his first three races of the season. (SDA)
