Futsal player Hovocubo was eliminated goalless in the Champions League
Hovocubo has been eliminated from Champions League Futsal after a 3-0 defeat by Solvenier Dobovec. With two defeats in the first two group games, the Hoorn club had to win to advance to the next round.
Hovocubo and Dobovec went hand in hand for a long time. But the Slovenians scored eight minutes from time from a shot by Ziga Ceh. Then Hovocubo went full offensive, with an outfield player as a goalie. But that led to two more goals for the Slovenians: from long distance via Cujec and Mordej.

This ends the Champions League adventure. The first group game was lost 6-1 against defending champions FC Barcelona, followed by a 5-1 defeat against home team Luxol St. Andrews from Malta on Thursday.
The club from Malta had signed a Brazilian and a Slovenian specifically for the Champions League.
Not again elite round
In Thursday’s game, captain Mats Velseboer was shown red. He wasn’t there against Dobovec. Slovenia’s Dobovec had a point after two games, enough of a draw as the group’s top three advance to the round of 16.
Last year, Hovocubo made it through the group stage but then lost in the elite round.
