No one could have ever dreamed that YB’s central defender duo would be called Anel Husic (23) and Sadin Crnovrsanin (22) at some point in the season. And you could have made a lot of money with that.
However, that was not planned either. Of course not. Finally, Captain Fabian Lustenberger starts as a patron in Yverdon. Next to him is Husic, who has made 40 Super League appearances during his time at Lausanne, so he is anything but a rookie. But with YB you often need time. This also applies to the former national U21 player. In Yverdon the time has come for him to start for the first time, after previously only playing briefly in the cup.
Suddenly on the field
In the end it is 0-0. And Husic draws a positive personal conclusion: “I am very proud that I can now wear the YB colors. And happy with my performance.” He might as well do that because it was flawless. YB did not grant Yverdon a single big scoring opportunity.
That’s one side of the story. The other is that of Crnovrsanin, the young man with Montenegrin roots but raised in Bern. He had been training with the first team all week, because Aurèle Amenda and Ali Camara were suspended against Yverdon and Loris Benito was injured for some time. So only Lustenberger and Husic remained. Coach Joël Magnin had warned the boys he had in his team in the run-up to the game against Yverdon: “Suddenly you are on the field. Then you have to be ready.” The coach is quoted in the “Berner Zeitung”.
This is the second game for the Husic/Crnovrsanin duo
And so it happened when Lustenberger suffered a thigh strain shortly before halftime and Crnovrsanin had to play. Together with Husic. However, the two were already allowed to rehearse together. In the U21 against the FCZ U21 on March 23. There was an immediate 2-0 victory. And the two also keep a clean slate in the Super League. Husic is therefore satisfied: “The boy is ready for it. He worked hard and trained well all week. During this time I talked to him a lot and helped him. And it was my first game in the starting line-up. That’s how we helped each other. And it went well.”
Actually very good. The two were the best from Bern in the yellow-black offensive on this miserable Sunday. “They harmonized well and performed confidently,” which is why the boss praised them. But as things go in this industry, fame passes quickly. On Thursday against the classification, the central defense will probably be called Camara/Amenda again.
