Conditioning exercise on April 1

The Nati players entered the sports complex in Freienbach (SZ) with wide eyes on Monday afternoon. Athletics trainer Michel Kohler (58) has set up about sixty cones on the small artificial grass field. Instead of a relaxed training, as is usually the case after a weekend, Kohler announces a line run. The intention is that Bachmann and Co. running back and forth between the cones for minutes. Ultimately, the players start working with anything but enthusiasm. But after about 30 seconds, Kohler ends the exercise. “April 1st!” he shouts and directs his players to the much more comfortable passing exercise.

Easter brunch at the Nati Hotel

On Easter Monday, a large family brunch will take place at Hotel Seedamm Plaza in Pfäffikon (SZ), where the national team is preparing for the two European Championship qualifiers against Turkey and Azerbaijan. This means that the start of the Nati meeting is slightly less quiet than normal. Amira Arfaoui, Aurélie Csillag, Ana Maria Crnogorcevic and Alayah Pilgrim can fulfill the wishes of the young autograph hunters well before the team dinner.

No latecomers like with the men’s national team

Unlike the men’s game, where rarely all players arrive on time for the meeting, all 23 women’s players arrive at the Nati hotel on time on Easter Monday. At 1:37 p.m., Riola Xhemaili arrives last in Pfäffikon with eight minutes to spare. Trainer Pia Sundhage is almost late for lunch because she takes a wrong turn in the hotel lobby.
